Mueller’s Branch Park Splash Pad Is Getting Repaired in Late 2026

Repairs to the Mary Elizabeth Branch Park water feature are expected to begin in September. Here’s what we know about the work and when the Mueller splash pad could reopen.

If you’ve been missing the splash pad at Mary Elizabeth Branch Park, there’s some good news: repairs are officially on the way.

The Mueller Property Owners Association (POA) has approved repairs to the popular water feature near the Branch Park events pavilion, bringing it one step closer to welcoming neighborhood splashers again.

Branch Park Splash Pad Repairs Begin in September 2026

Crews are expected to begin work in mid-September 2026 to repair a major pipe connecting the operating station near the restrooms to the waterscape.

Because of the location of the pipe, the project will require excavation into the hillside and concrete surrounding the water feature. Crews will make every effort to minimize noise and disruption during construction, particularly on Sundays while the Mueller Farmers’ Market is underway.

How Are the Branch Park Splash Pad Repairs Funded?

The repairs to the Branch Park water feature will not be paid for with Mueller POA funds. Instead, funding for the project will come through Mueller’s tax increment financing (TIF).

Mueller has a unique public-private financing structure that helps fund infrastructure and parks throughout the development. Under this model, a portion of property tax revenue generated by development within Mueller supports eligible project costs. The City of Austin’s most recent financing update shows that Mueller’s TIF has been used as part of the broader financing structure for streets, utilities, parks, and other infrastructure.

When Will the Mueller Splash Pad Reopen?

There isn’t a confirmed reopening date just yet. The POA plans to provide updates as repairs progress and will announce a reopening date once it has been confirmed.

We’ll be following along, too, and will share the latest Branch Park splash pad updates here on eventsinmueller as the project progresses.

For now, we’ll leave you with a photo from happier, splashier days: Wally overlooking the water feature when it was still up and running.

And a quick reminder for Wally’s fellow four-legged neighbors: dogs are not allowed in the water feature itself, but they’re more than welcome to admire the action from dry land.
